Tonight I bought a remanufactured alternator(150A) for my 2009 honda accord 2.4L. I've realized that I have too big of an amplifier powering one 15" american bass TNT 1544..... (BRX.2000.1D Hifonics Amplifier). I looked up my amplifier just now and was read a message saying it requires at least a 160A alternator otherwise it'd damage my amp, alternator, or subwoofer. My alternator currently is 150A which I just bought.
Simple question.. which amp is perfect for a 15" american bass (800RMS subwoofer) with a 150A (stock) alternator that doesnt cause electrical issues. |

Although it calls for a 160a alt, your perfectly safe running a 150.
Plus you are really only pushing 500watts @ 4 ohm which won't strain the system too much. If your lights are dimming, You may be able to go two different routes -adding another battery in parallel -adding a capacitor Battery seems to be a more proven method. Goodluck. Cheers! |
