My dad just had complete ankle replacement surgery and I realized how lucky I am to have only had one surgery in my life to remove my appendix. I have friends that are suffering now because of sports injuries/surgeries from when they were younger.
Have any of you ever had surgery before? |

I have had 2 surgeries although one of them I'd rather not talk about. The one I will talk about however was when I had my appendix out and I was in the hospital for a little under a month. I was on holiday (I was around 10-11 years old) and my parents noticed I wasn't acting normal and i was drinking an insane amount of water (compared to what I usually drank) so my mum took me to the local doctors (who weren't helpful at all). My mum knew something was wrong so she took me to the train station and we got back home ASAP so we could go to the hospital (we were like 2 hours away from where we lived so we weren't too far luckily). We got to the hospital and waited around for a little bit and I don't remember much after that but I woke up with stuff attached to me and they were draining the infection out of me. They told my parents I had a gangrenous appendix and I was 12 hours from dying so my mum basically saved my life.
That experience will be with me forever and I have one big scar to go with it. They had to staple the wound shut since the opening was so big (because they had to rush in and get to my appendix). After a while my skin started growing around the staples so when it came to having them removed it felt like torture. That is my story and I will never take my life for granted. My mum saved my life that day and she gave life to me in the first place so I will always love her; she's one in a million. Coincidently my brother also went through a similar experience as he had the same thing as me and it was around the same age it happened to me which is what I found really baffling. |

Yes I've had surgery 3 times on my knees. Also if it counts I've had my wisdom teeth in the past removed with anesthesia. |

Only surgeries I have had are related to my mouth, one would be wisdom teeth being removed and I at one point has this tooth growing in weird so they had to remove it out of the gums or something as well, nothing too insane on my part. |
