I know it's probably not uncommon, but for my life, I've never NOT felt inadequate. My entire life I've felt below average or not good enough even though I'm told I am, I just don't see it. Is that something any of you have gone through? And how did you prevent it from controlling your life.

Example so we're on the same page sort of:

I like a girl, the girl is a good friend. I develop feelings for said girl, but I'm unconfident in approaching her as more than a friend because of the fact that I don't think it will go well because of the way I am. Not good enough. This is one of the many things that currently rule my mind and cause issues with my relationships both as friends and even family sometimes. not to mention my own self image.

I get what you mean but what you have to remember is we are all human and we are all different. I was in a similar situation with a girl I liked, we are good friends but I realised she didn't like me the same way I liked her. I am completely fine with that as since we didn't have too much in common but I still like her as a friend now and we talk often.

If you really like this girl then the only way you will find out if she likes you back is either by confronting her about it, or waiting to see if you notice anything that indicates if she likes you or not (which isn't always easy). If you worry about the way you look, try to look for the positives in your appearance because looking at yourself in a negative way will only bring you down further. If it is an issue about your weight, you could always try improving your diet and getting more exercise but don't push yourself too hard because you will probably end up even worse.

unfortunately, I don't have much self confidence in my appearance, but the issue lies within how her and another person we're friends with interact and I can't help but think, maybe there isn't anything and I'm genuinely too anxious to ask straight up. I know that they are good friends but sometimes I feel left out and she knows how I feel about her so it's weird but she has told me that it doesn't really change how she looks at me or anything. Weird to explain

I mean if she knows how you feel then I think it's safe to say she doesn't have the same feelings for you although I'm not expert on woman so I might be wrong. I get some people worry about the way they look and I know how it feels because I used to be the same. It is hard to cross the barrier of not being worried about the way you look but you just have to tell yourself that it doesn't matter what other people think of your appearance. It is hard and it will take time but if someone really likes you then they will like you for you so don't go changing yourself to please others.

we have only recently met (6-8 months ago?) and I've only recently said that so not sure how things will pan out but I do know that it's not something I'll rush but just curious about some things between our friend group but we'll see. It'll be what it'll be.
