Hi, with help from guys here I upgraded my pc (build bellow). However I was unable to even launch and play metro exodus, looking online looked like a troublesome game so threw it off as that. Then i couldnt play fallout 4, my game is heavily modded and I had to delete some fo4 files when i was cloning drives so i threw it off as some missing texturs or something. Then i played mafia remastered no problems at all finished the game and not a single crash on ultra 2k res, gpu always around 70% usage no frame drops or anything great!

Now I have got far cry 5 and even on high or med settings i cant get past opening cutscene without crash to desktop. The frames stay above 100 on in game benchmark and that runs fine, but it crashes so quick when I go into story mode. My pc is way more than whats required to play this game it should be fine.

Having tested all these games im almost sure there is something wrong with the pc and I am desperate for help. Unfortuney I dont realy have any other games that would actually put my pc under alot of stress or that are harder to run for testing purposes.

Things I have tried so far:

Fresh DDU and install latest gpu drivers Install latest mobo drivers (disk came with mobo) Underclock ram to 2400mhz (should be able to get 3200mhz but BSOD when i try to set it to that with xmp defult is 2866 i think. Stress test gpu on prime95 (fine) Stress test gpu on FurMark (fine) Constantly monitor temps ect with afterburner (good low temps) Use windows diagnostic to check ram (seemed fine although it didnt show results after reboot?) Check and installed latest windows 10 updated. Reset to defult in bios. I still have my old gpu a 970 so I will chuck it back in to check the gpu is not the issue. I dont imagine power being the issue as afterburner shows power limit was not reached (also had gpu/cpu pinned at 100% on stress testing) I pray this is not an issue with the 3060ti but i dont know Unfortunetly i have no other ddr4 ram available so im unable to swap this part out (inserted in slot 2 and 4 as mobo suggests)

Build: uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/9FXynL

Thanks guys

Most definitely is not an issue spec wise.

I personally would be leaning towards RAM as your GPU seems to be 100% fine and working. You can try popping 1 stick out and seeing if you are having the same issue and if not, test the other stick to see if either of them might be faulty.

Truly I am not certain what the issue is. Hopefully @21 can come through and give some advice as well.

Daddy Calder came through big time and helped me for hours to sort my issues out. In the end it was overlapping drivers from my old system (not gou drivers) this meant that a restore/part clean install of win 10 fixed all issues that i have tested so far

Thanks

That's awesome. Glad to see his service working out. Always love to hear what the issue is, I'll be more prepared the next time this issue arises!

Have fun gaming!
