SRT-4, I have a lot of friends with Cobalts and they just regret getting them after awhile. They can have a lot of problems with the Manuels if you arent super good with it.

My buddy and I did do a SRT-4 Swap to a 90's Neon 2-Door and it is a blast!

My experience with a neon has been all around bad.

Archives/p=36650556.html#36650556

2 Years after that final post I bought the SAME car back, the owners took very very good care of it and i drove it 1600kms back home with zero issues.

3 weeks later the throw out bearing in the trans let go and damaged the clutch. Fixed it all drove it for 2 months and the 3rd gear selector fork snapped on the 4-3 downshift.

Sold it to my brother who has also had nothing but top end problems.

However, my good friend had a car with 200,000kms with zero issues. However his was stock with only a mopar intake.

Keep it stock it'll last forever as long as you keep up with the maintenance.

Modify it and goodluck lol

This was one of the most fun cars ive ever owned but burns holes in your pockets

Yea i decided to go with a 2001 MK4 Golf 1,8T instead. Not a huge fan of superchargers and the SRT's are always hit or miss. My cousin owns one and only has a trans issue (or so he thought) turned out to be the shifter cables (hard to find but not the end of the world) and thats bin golden since, Now on the flip side my neighbor does car work all the time and he has an SRT-4 over there on what seems to be a daily basis for many different issues and I finally decided its not worth it at the end of the day. Picked up a 2001 MK4 Golf with a rebuilt top end , new water pump etc (known issues have bin fixed) now replacing the clutch after it decided to slip on me after a slight pull off a dead stop. Plans soon are gonna be new coilovers , wheels , stage 2 with K04 Turbo pushin about 250hp for a daily an then Ill still have my B Swapped Turbo Civic

Without a doubt the SRT is more of a RAW vehicle. I've owned two of them, 10/10 Recommend.
I used to own a supercharged SS, was fun however nothing compared to an SRT4. A TC ss will outhandle and pull on an srt 9/10 times depending on driver mod, however nothing beats the sound of an srt!
Cheers

Srt's are notorious for having 3rd gear transmission synchro problems. Easy fix however total pain in the arse. I've got a close friend who does 1st gen neon > srt4 swaps. They're tones of fun!
