i never thought i would see the day dodge would stop producing hellcats, especially since it was so popular. This whole EV thing is stupid imo. but i guess it was inevitable. it sucks because a hellcat was one of my achievable dream cars to get when i got out of college and had a stable job, but i guess that dream is gone

I doubt it, with all the new laws in place it wouldn't be a smart move to reopen production for less than 10 years.
HOWEVER, that sounds like a decent investment to me... Buy one now and sell it with less than 10k miles in 5 or so years. |

This is super unfortunate. The whole EV movement really sucks, and is a step in the wrong direction. People think EVs do so much good for the environment, but fail to realize the raw elements used in creating the batteries and other components of those vehicles. |

You will probably argue "but the electricity comes from coal" but that is reducing year on year as greener energy sources are producing more and more of the energy in the grid. Also in terms of efficiency an EV car is around 80% + (from the battery) while ICE when being generous are only 30%. Accounting for transmission and producing of energy its probably around 50% for EV (when coming from coal power) but as energy production is getting greener and greener that isn't too much of a concern For some reason when people talk about ICE vs EV, they start at the mining for the EV while only looking at the localized pollution (out the exhaust) of an ICE. Don't forget, the fuel is transported around the world in massive tankers, the drilling for fuel is also terrible for the environment. Also, recycling for EV batteries is something to consider. And I aint some electric car fanboy. I have a rotary which isn't exactly known for being good for the environment or good on fuel. but at the end of the day, EV's are magnitudes better for the environment than ICE cars and they are continually getting greener. |
