So we have this computer:

uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/c7b8y4

My dad uses it for playing games mainly but he doesn't care about making the games look better, the main concern he has is making it just faster in general.

My idea is maybe a better CPU, 1TB NVME or SSD for him to put his games on rather than the hdd, and even a bigger/better case. His current case doesn't seem great for airflow, it's very cramped inside and there's barely any ventilation.

He has 400GBP to spend so I'm looking for suggestions and what we could go for. He doesn't care too much about the look.

Thanks for any help!

If you want better performance in games, then a GPU upgrade will be your best bet for sure. Unfortunately, that's not really a viable option right now.

I would definitely upgrade that PSU, especially if upgrading GPU so if you're looking to spend money on something while you wait for affordable GPUs, then a new PSU would be a good start.

Another SSD is never a bad idea. 1TB NVMe SSDs are still really well priced IMO at around 100 quid for a good one.

Can upgrade case if you want. Plenty of good options, and some personal preference is going to come in to that decision but I can leave some recommendations if wanted.

Could add another 16GB RAM maybe if you still have some money left. Could also upgrade the CPU if you wanted, but the Ryzen 3 is fine tbh. If you were to upgrade CPU, then I'd probably go for an R5 3600 or 5600x, whatever you can find in stock at a reasonable price.
