so i have only had my pc for 4 months my main boot SSD is okay thank god, but my hard drive which contains everything is having big issues.

from files corrupting to when i reboot it says "fixing and scanning D drive" to it even giving me a 0xc0000001 error when booting at 1 point but that fixed itself. i cant download anything to the drive as it seems like basically everything is corrupted. i have done the basic things to try solving this where i went into cmd using the command "chkdsk" then after using "chkdsk /f" of course telling me there is issues. downloading games gives me a "disc writing error" and my unity projects are not working either. also not sure if i should back them up for the new hard drive that i might need to get also. just alot of questions as i have never went through this before.

im just wondering if i reset the hard drive would it work? and if not then if i buy a new one it wont affect my ssd from what i have downloaded on there compared to the hard drive i have? im kinda guessing this hard drive is just done and to buy a new one just dont wanna do anything stupid as it is a expensive ish pc and the last thing i wanna do is break more stuff in the process.

any answers are appreciated alot! < 3

The error could be caused by a multitude of things, but by the sounds of it you probably need to reformat the harddrive that it keeps trying to scan and fix. I would honestly try to invest in another ssd to replace it if possible as I've personally had my own troubles with harddisks failing on me. You can try to use a tool such as minitool.com/ to help try to recover any files that you need on there. This worked for me when my external hdd went to shit. It might be fine for a little while after you do a full reset, but if you did nothing for it to corrupt then I'd say the chances of it happening again are pretty high.
