Recently just brought a Rgh been watching modded warfare on YouTube so I've got all the tools , mod menus. Using teapot stealth but heard you need gold to play the old gen cods is it possible to buy gold on my console or do I need to purchase a gold code from somewhere

You can buy it from the console but you have to add a payment method. Some people just rather use a code.

Haven't had a console in a long ass time so not sure if there's a cheaper source or if there's a way to spoof for free, but they have codes on g2a for really cheap.

Using Teapot you're spoofing xbl. If you wanna play MP than id buy it if not you can host private matches just fine with spoofing.
I make accounts on xbox.com and just spoof xbl with teapot to host.
