Sorry if I'm the wrong section, I live in London, UK and there is no time slots available this year to take practical driving tests, I was wondering is the GOV website the only place I can book my practical? Or can I go else where to book it maybe sooner? Thank you in advance

I believe so!
If you keep checking everyday a slot normally opens up so be vigilant

I'm in the US (and it varies by state here) and have 0 experience with the UK system so I could be totally wrong.
But here they reset all the slots on a specific day, any cancellations or other openings they had become available at like 4am on the first Tuesday of the month or something along those lines.

Your best bet would probably be finding out if the system works similarly for you, and if so when the new appointments go live.
Then it's just a matter of setting your alarm.

This webiste will find driving tests for you that are cancelled. It is paid now but it is 100% worth it if you don't wish to wait. Trying to snipe a driving test yourself will never work out since you are up against things like this.

I have used this myself when the delays t was really difficult to get a test - managed to save a two or three months because of it.

If you've already booked your test, then you can contact the test centre where you'll be doing your test to see if they have a late cancelation. If they've got your name on the list, there's more chance of you snagging someone that can't make it on that day. Just be weary that they'll give you liberally no notice so if you're planning to do this with your teachers car, then a bit of juggling and communication might be worth while.

Mate there is an app you can get and you pay 18 quid and it texts you or emails you when there is a cancellation, You can book the slot that comes available if its convenient to you, i used it cos there wasn't a test for like 8 months and i got the app and had my test within 2 weeks. its worth a try, yeah its 18 quid but its quicker if you want to take your test.

There are 2 that i know:
Driving Test Cancellations NOW
Testi Driving Cancellations UK
