That's a pretty outdated article as meta changes. On top of that it doesn't really go in-depth for Mycareer which is the main gamemode it just says "oh yeah shooters shoot by the way"

But if i had to give advice, 2k is notorious for being money hungry. So what people do to make a lot of VC is make a inside big man (7'0, default weight, max wingspan, red/blue pie chart, and a "little" bit of shooting) and then they go to a mediocre team, i would always pick something like the Cavs since they don't have many good shooters and slashers. which allows you to constantly grab rebounds for more xp.

After your first season you should have a max contract with the best incentives and you should be making around 1.2k-1.5k per game which it takes around 170k to make a new build from scratch. Your own build should be at least 90-93 overall. But if you're purely using it to farm VC i would leave it at around 81 or when you max out every defense stat and dunk stat and get the best animations. Which should be around 100k-120k.

After that i would funnel all of my extra VC into a build you want, Most popular being playmaking shot creators since they can pretty much do everything. There are plenty of builds on Youtube that go in-depth on what exactly you should put on so you don't end up making a mistake.

I used to do this back in 2k20 and i had nearly 8+ builds that were maxed out.

But if you're the type to just spend the money and max your character out to an 85, i would just watch a video on the best build that fits your playstyle (playmaking shot creator/stretch four/rebounding wing/paint beast etc.)

Depends on what mode you're playing. I'd start with mycareer or if you have ever played Madden Ultimate Team or the Fifa Ultimate Team modes I'd do myteam. Same thing as those and it keeps it fun since they still update the content every day and new players drop Tuesdays/Fridays mainly.

Try not to spend money though, they made it a lot easier to get a good team without spending money this year.

Yeah, a lot of people use MyTeam as a testing ground to see if you'd like the build before spending the VC on it. I would look up the badges/stats for said build and make a custom character and use player lock.

Saved me hundreds of hours beforehand.
