Welcome to TTG's first official Old School Runescape clan! A good amount of us on here play pretty often so we're hoping to get some new faces either into the game or to join in if you are already experienced.



Joining the Clan

Any account is welcome in! If you would like to join, click on your clan tab and "find" and search "thetechgame". Spencer has provided a gif showing how to do so for those who are new.

Loke has done an excellent job setting up the bots for the discord, here is some guides made by him you can follow:

Wise Old Man Bot

to get started head over to the wise-old-man text channel in the ttg osrs discord

then the first command you should enter is without the brackets

!setrsn (your rsn here)

you will get a response like this

now the bot will start to track things like xp gained

some commands you can use is

another thing you can do is enable the Wise Old Man in the "xp updater" plugin

just look in the top right of runelite and find and click this button

now for the small "custom" bot thats just named System being worked on by me

this bot i am putting together as a project to help me learn it does the following

1. adds roles when a user reacts to emojis the main example of this is in the Roles channel

2. i added a command that just shows some helpful links right in the discord so they are all in one place to use it just type .links in the Bot Commands channel

3. this one is just for anyone with the manage messages perms in the discord it just mass deletes messages to use it type without the brackets .purge (then a number of messages you want to remove)

now for some things being worked on

1. im working on adding a voting system for things like skill of the week its not done yet but this is a rough idea of what it will look like

Clan Structure

As of right now the roles you can ascend are Sapphire, Emerald, Ruby, Diamond, Dragonstone, Onyx, Zenyte, Moderator some roles have certain requirements for activity and events, while others are just based on leaderships opinion.

Founder
For being one of the original ten members to join TheTechGame OSRS other than the original clan founders. These ten members will start at Emerald rather than Sapphire. They will get to move up to Ruby at the 90 Day mark essentially skipping out on those initial 30 days and will rank up every 90 Days beyond that.

Sapphire
For joining TheTechGame on OSRS you will be assigned the Sapphire Rank and will maintain it for as long as you are active.

Emerald
After being active in TheTechGame OSRS for 30 Days and are active you will be turned into a Emerald. Attending any clan events that are being held can increase your chances of being promoted as well. If you were one of the first ten members who weren't the original clan founders you start here instead of Sapphire.

Ruby
After being active in TheTechGame OSRS for 120 Days and have remained active, attended events and shown you are a key member to the community you can be ranked up to a Ruby.

Diamond
After being active in TheTechGame OSRS for 210 Days and have remained active, attend events and pitch ideas and helped better out the clan you can achieve the rank Diamond.

Dragonstone
After being active in TheTechGame OSRS for 300 Days and have remained active, and gone above and beyond you will be eligible for the rank of Dragonstone.

Onyx
After being active in TheTechGame OSRS for 390 Days and you've continued to be active, help out where-ever you could and provide your own knowledge you can be granted the rank of Onyx.

Zenyte
After being active in TheTechGame OSRS for 480 Days and continously grind out the game of Runescape you have shown you are a leader and have earned the greatest position we offer, Zenyte.

After Zenyte?
Every role beyond Zenyte will be given based on activity unless we fill in the three missing ranks which will be added above, and when needed applications for Clan Moderator may open up as well as Recruiter although you do not need to be a Zenyte to become a moderator or recruiter. Finally you can reach roles with advanced permissions and become an administrator of the clan if deemed trustworthy.


Advanced Permissions?
While being a Clan Moderator is being a part of the staff team the clan roles that show advanced permissions would be the next step beyond that. These members you'll see in TheTechGame OSRS will have these roles, so if you require any help or have any questions you can ask the people with these roles for help!

The rank of General is reserved for those who have founded the clan and manage the WOM, Discord and Spreadsheet, this role can be obtained but you would have to go through the staff ranks from Mod --> Vanguard --> Lieutenant --> Captain.

Hoping to see some faces hop by either as a guest or decide to join, depending on the amount of members could eventually do social/pvm events one of my favorite past-times within a clan. Also if you join or have any ideas rank-wise or anything like that feel free to let me know and I will make necessary changes.

I think one of the best part of the clan feature is the aspect of seeing your friends rare drops and level ups, the social aspect is honestly what keeps me on these days.

If you'd like to track hours on steam which some people (myself) are addicted to gaining hours you can also launch runelite through steam the actual runecape client on there is getting better but does not have the great features runelite has.



Essentially here is what you want to do.

    1.Install Oldschool Runescape on Steam
    2. Install runelite, only from runelite.net do not go to other sites as their is fakes out there trying to steal accounts.
    3. Launch OSRS on steam once just in case i'm not sure if it's required but it may need to create additional folders/files on your computer.
    4. after that exit it out and right click the game on your steam library and go to properties, once there go to general and type in
    C:\Users\*yourname*\AppData\Local\RuneLite\Runelite.exe %command%

    5. Once you've done this everytime you launch OSRS through steam it will track your hours and launch the runelite client, keep in mind you will not be able to get the steam achievements the game has if you do this.




Enjoy tracking your hours, well if that is what you are into of course.

I'm like level 75 but it wasn't my account it was given to me i've been trying to get into it but i'm just so confused how to progress...i'd join but i'm clueless how to even play

We can always help if you're confused on what to do. Questing is pretty important at the beginning. If you haven't already I'd try knocking out all the Free to Play quests.

Join the clan and chat with us there, we all have been there at the start.
