It sets unobtainable body and lifestyle expectations on people. Looking at other people, comparing what they have vs what you don't. I've dealt with so many close friends and family who harp on about how it affects their self esteem. Social media is constantly involved with suicides and various other problematic instances and it hinders as much as it helps.
