Hiya,
I have a problem with my car, I have a 2005 Ford Fiesta Zetec S. This is hard to explain as there is a lot happening but here goes: Headlights OFF = everything works fine Headlights ON = Turns my handbrake light on (yes handbrake is off) Headlights ON = Passenger side headlight comes on but very dim and can hardly see it. (Drivers side works fine) Headlights ON = passenger side front indicator hardly works very dim & can hardly see it. (Drivers side works fine) Headlights ON = turning high beams on drivers side works but passenger side will just show indicator. So basically there is something happening when turning headlights on. I have tried: changing passenger side headlight bulb, testing and replacing fuses, reset car, checked with OBD reader and says no faults. Tried looking online for fixes for this but seems no one has had this problem before, only thing I could find was a post saying something about it's could be a ground cable. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated as i am out of ideas now and really can't afford to pay a garage to fix it. |

My first thought would be starting with the easiest stuff first, I'd run over to autozone and have your battery and alternator tested.
If both of those come back good, check all your ground locations (usually you can just follow the negative battery cable to find them), make sure they are clean and not cut or frayed. Also check the wires to your passenger side bulb, tug on each one in the connector to make sure they aren't loose. Past that I'd start looking at your relays, maybe change the headlight relay. I pulled up a fuse box diagram, I hope it's the right one lol, but it shows each headlight has its own fuse, I know you said you replaced fuses, did you specifically replace fuses 9 and 10? Those should be your headlight fuses and they show to be 10 amp fuses. Also look at fuses 11 and 19,they are a 15 amp fuse that control your DRL, and fuse 17 and 31 a 15 and 10 amp fuse (light switch fuse), fuses 20 and 33 which are 7.5 amp fuses (your instrument cluster), fuse 25 a 15 amp fuse (indicators), fuses 52 and 5310 amp fuses which are your high beams. For your relays, check relay 4 and 5, those are for your low beams, as well as relay 9 for your DRLs If everything above checks out ok then it may be a faulty headlight switch or your instrument cluster could be going out. Hopefully that gives you some sort of direction to go in! |

I would just go into the Ford dealership and have them inspect the vehicle or tried to go online and get in touch with a individual know something about electrical problems In vehicles. Worst case scenario buy a new vehicle possibly a Toyota Corolla something affordable |
