So basically my PC sounds will play through the party (even when my mic is fully muted). I cannot listen to background music and talk to buddies without everyone hearing it. Same goes for my game sounds. I've tried a bunch of settings i found online to no avail.
I use the xbox party via pc because my buddies are on xbox. Again, even when muted the sounds will still play through the party however they cannot hear me speak. Edit: This started happening a few months ago - I have used the same headset before hand and never had this problem. No new sound software/updates have been installed that would cause this. I have updated and downgraded drivers it still persists. Update: I just unplugged my mic/headset and played music in a party and can confirm my friends still hear my music even when my headsets not even plugged in. |

Found the solution:
In Realtek HD Audio Manager there is an option under "Recording" to seperate all inputs to their own. Seemed to work thanks for anyone trying to find a solution. Can take this post down or leave it incase anyone else has the issue. |

The new app sucksss imo that i can agree with, they are awful. luckily this was a realtek issue. i omitted the xbox part when I went to voice recorder and muted mic to test it. I dug and dug thru forums and finally I came across that one setting I'd never been able to find. If you type "realtek" in windows search nothing comes up even though I already had it installed. I had to go into program files and locate the executable for it to run. |
