The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 will be played from 20 November to 18 December in Qatar. I know it's not till next month but I thought I'd kick it if now. After the success of my last World Cup thread in 2018 along with the contest I did, I thought to do the same this year. Please feel free to discuss anything about the World Cup on this thread, results, predictions etc. I will be updating this thread with all the latest information, news and results, also I will be hosting another contest maybe and gifts of gold and games etc to be won. I hope you guys enjoy the thread as much as last time. Results Group A 16 : 00 20 NOV 2022 QAT 0 - 2 ECU Highlights From All Knock Out Matches Groups News |

BuiltDifferent wrote France to win I'd be very surprised. Imo they're only about the 6th favourites this time around. EDIT: Where'dya go mister? I would love to see England (I'm a Brit), the Netherlands (I live here), Argentina (Messi fanboy) or an African nation (yeah... ok) win it. I think Brazil are most likely this time around. I feel like even 3-4 first team injuries wouldn't weaken their squad too much! I also expect Portugal to be an interesting team this winter if injuries don't hit them too hard. I always seem to be in the wrong country for international football competitions. 2014 World Cup in Romania - Who didn't qualify... 2016 Euros - Sadly in England for this one haha 2018 World Cup I was in the Netherlands - They didn't even qualify. 2021 Euro I was in Turkey and Bulgaria over England's run to the final. 2022 World Cup I'll be in Turkey - who also didn't qualify! I'm just doomed to watch all major international competitions in atmosphericless isolation |

Wish this was in the summer, not excited for this at all. Just getting in the way of club football. Brazil are going to win it. |

TOXIC wrote Not long now guys, my mate is going over there for 2 weeks to watch matches. So unfortunate I can't go. You would want to go to Qatar? I don't think it'd be such a good time. I imagine there'd only be drinking in private hotel bars and a poor atmosphere, especially compared to the street parties of South Africa and Brazil. |

Since there aren't enough hotels or apartments to host all of the fans coming for the World Cup games..
Qatar has opened their budget fan village where one can stay in half a shipment container for ONLY $200-300 a night. They are even hosting fans on cruise ships off-shore! Alcohol is banned in fan villages. Food not included. Due to the lack of accommodation, Qatar recommends game-goers to stay in nearby countries and just fly in for the games. A fan village Oh, and drinks will cost £80 a pint in bars (the only place one can get an alcohol drink). |
