just wondering on your thoughts on r6? personally for the last 2 years i have been grinding it would not say im the best player but would not say im the worst either. i know it has alot of hate around it how it has a really bad learning curve and how toxic it is within the community but honestly there are just some hilarious moments within the game when even when the game is going wrong you get to eat some popcorn while people are going crazy down a mic its a win win for me at least xD . i dunno i just fricken love this game and i know its not right
but wondering if any of you guys play it now or i guess you played it during its " glory days" |

I personally haven't played it in about 2-3 years seriously at this point. The game was pretty fun for what it was but honestly what put me off was the simple things that were left out (like leaning without the need to aim) i didn't like how console players were locked out of simple mechanics that can completely change the way the game plays. That pretty much solidified that crossplay will never be a thing with console to PC.
On top of that, i really enjoyed secure area. When it was removed i was already out the door but when that was said i was out. I'm not a fan of bomb honestly. And lastly, They've been teasing cross-progression for years and nothing has come out of it. I have the game on PC but i'm not looking forward to not only unlocking all of my characters again but also losing all of my skins and levels. |

On top of that now that i know they have a toggle for secure area i went ahead and downloaded the game and everything linked just fine. I was a bit worried that it was going to link my PC account to my Xbox and i was going to lose everything but it worked out fine. I actually appreciate you telling me about the cross progression, I head no news about it even though i follow them on social media. It must've been tucked away in some patch notes. All i'm hoping now is SBMM isn't too rough. |

Went really hard back in the day and hit champ in ranked and was a regular diamond. I attended E-sports tournaments for the game and everything.. I WAS ENTHRALLED. Sadly the game fell off for me after sweating for literal years. I came back recently (this season) after an almost 2 year break from the game and I'm enjoying it quite a bit. I told myself I wouldn't try hard at the game and kill it and I kinda just mess about now and it's pretty fun. I do think that the game was in a much better state around Iana's release however despite some changes that imo were "bad" the community seems to have lightened up a bit.
TLDR; game isn't as good as it was but it can be fun at a casual level for at least me. |

I'll preface this by saying I quit playing seriously around Chimera (Which I'm now realizing was like almost 5 years ago lord), but I will say it was my favorite comp shooter around the time as I got burnt out playing CS. The daunting task of getting back into learning the current meta and just how much the average comp player has increased in skill since 2017-18 has kept me from going back to playing regularly, but when I was regularly playing the game was a lot of fun. I want to say that Lion's OP ability spam made me quit but honestly it was probably just me realizing I wasn't nearly as good as I thought I was lol. From my experience the devs were not great about character balancing early on, but this may have improved since I quit playing. I played PC but apparently it's one of the better experiences on console for shooters that are sweatier than your average cod lobby, a lot of non-pc friends of mine got into trueskill based games from siege.
I normally really don't enjoy comp shooters that involve character-based abilities, but siege was my exception for that. It has a lot of the same pitfalls as most other modern comp shooters, but for anyone looking to try a new one who hasn't played siege yet, I highly recommend it. The learning curve is quite steep but most shooters of this variety are already. If you can hit shots (or are willing to fail a lot while practicing it) and are willing to learn the attacker/defender metas as updates drop, it's a great one to get into. Community can be pretty toxic at times if you're solo queuing but unfortunately that's how most of these games are. |
