So I download a ps3 save file from this site that is BLES region Im BLUS... now I know I can channe regions using Bruteforce however when I load that save file into Brute Force it doesnt show anything. So when I look in the folder I notice it doesnt have an SFO file.. which is probably why nothing shows...

Im guessing the SFO file is the actual save file. if I put my save's SFO into that save folder THEN I can load it in bruteforce and it shows up and shows an BLUS file... But I doubt thats gonna work because if it was that easy then I wouldnt need Brute Force to begin with if all I had to do is but my SFO file into their folder.

So how do I actually use the save file I got

Since you have got your own param.sfo and put it in the gamesave folder....

Example ONLY:

1. Decrypt PFD

2. Change region (ONLY if needed - Right click > Change Title ID/Region > (Change to your region)

3. Double click on param.sfo on left side panel

4. Click on the Account ID button to get yours on it

5. Make sure the folder and this are named the same

6. Have the Protected box untick/uncheck

7. Save (of course)

Click on Encryt PFD > Encrpt Decrypted PFD files

Click on Verify

Click on Rebuild >Rebuild Full

IF you still have the game save on your USB, delete it,
then transfer the game save you modified through bruteforce onto the USB

NOTE:

IF you do change region, it should create another folder with that region - it's been a good few years I've done this

okay i think i have found my problem, but i don't know how to solve it yet.
The key is not determined. the field is completely empty. in the videos i have seen it either says the key from the games.conf or unprotected or something similar.

no matter whether i take a clean savegame file from the ps3 or one from the internet. the field is always empty. reading from the desktop doesn't work either.

IF you need to add the BLUS/NPUB/NPEB/BLES/BLJM to the games.conf

1. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Bruteforce Save Data

2. Move the games.conf to the Desktop and open with notepad

3. Look for <The Game You Want To Add> (For Example... Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2)

4. Add the NPEB code: (For example ONLY) NPEB01002 within the others that you see....

[BLUS30919/NPUB31144/NPEB01002/BLES01527/BLJM60539]

For Example ONLY:

5. Then move the games.conf back to C:\Program Files (x86)\Bruteforce Save Data

OR

You can simply watch this video about adding and retrieving Disk Hash Key and/or Secure File ID
How to Add Disk Hash Key to Game.Conf File
youtu.be/HVK4GfwfnH4

Maybe...
This program will be easier for you to use
How to Resign Game Saves (PS3 Save Resigner 2.0)
youtu.be/N-UfBZX6PeA

You can find the mediafire download link
(for PS3 Save Resigner 2.0) in his description

BUT you might still need to insert the additional info into the games.conf from it's Installation folder
C:\Users\<UserName>\Documents\The Prince of Codes\[PS3] Save Resigner

Note: I only used SR 2.0 to resign Uncharted 2 and 3 saves

Because BSD couldn't resign them (for whatever reason)
but it does a lot more than Save Resigner 2.0
