After all the recent news about the old CODs, I decided to hook up my RGH that I haven't used in a couple years. When I used it in the past everything was always ok with no issues.

Now, after plugging it in and trying to boot it up, I get the RROD and my fans become very loud then the console shuts off.
I did some research of error code 0013 and all I see is talk about overheating, I'm not positive that's the case considering I haven't powered it on in quite some time. I'm on here basically to find out if anyone has had this issue and successfully fixed it without taking it apart and soldering.

Anything helps, just trying to play some old cod.

Most likely it is a Overheating issues. The glue on the GPU/CPU could be worn down where it would need some fresh compound. Have you tried bypassing any plugins that could cause this aswell. Turn it on and instantly open the drive and this should bypass plugins. If it shuts down after that it def can be a GPU/CPU issue. Can you boot into xell with out any issues? maybe see if it overheats while you just open the disc drive.

Your console might need a reball then. if you cant boot into xell. so you might need some compound and reballed gpu or the rgh wires could of got torn.

Typically it takes longer than a few seconds to overheat. That's why I was wondering if it's a corona because they're known for blowing the temperature resistors which will send a false signal that it's overheating. From what I understand it takes closer to ~30 seconds or so for the chip to actually get hot enough to overheat.

How old is the console ? Who rghed the console? Not sure it's over heating. Thinking it's bad nand flash and the smc timing is either broken wire or has come detached from the console so as it starts to boot it fails and gives you an error. I have had these issues with customers consoles with poor soldering or when I was rghing them myself. Consoles that customers have sent in. More likely new thermal past and fan mod would help if it was over heating But I would have to look in to the wiring and soldering issues

Either way the console would need to be opened and repaired
