It's great that you have decided to try therapy as a way to improve yourself and address your depression. Therapy can be a helpful tool for many people, as it provides a safe and supportive space to discuss and work through difficult emotions and experiences.
If you are open and committed to the process, it is possible that therapy can make a positive difference in your life. It's also important to keep in mind that therapy can take time, and it's normal to have ups and downs during the process. I've been doing therapy for almost three years now, and it has been a life-saver! |

i would usually try to avoid trying to take my mental health seriously cause you know, society says men shouldn't show weakness and so on. I also just didn't want anyone else to know I am struggling with things mentally or internally. I always felt that I was being a burden to people and so on. So I never took the time to address it really. But working through with my therapist has been helping a little. I have somewhat found my enjoyment for editing and so on again and it's been somewhat refreshing to experience it again. I just wish I would of realized that I needed therapy before things got so bad haha. Thank you all for the kind words everyone, I appreciate it (: |

No but i feel it wouldn't help tbf i'm the type to bottle things up and have one big outburst and do something stupid i guess that's just how i've dealt with it years but it's seeming to get worse n worse so hey maybe i should, also feel as a man that i should just leave it and just get on with life |

I just bottled everything up and didn't talk to anyone about anything. It sucks how society has brought on the stigma where men's mental health doesn't matter. That we should all just be a man and get on with everything. But I'm hoping to break away from that and just do what is better for myself and my mentality towards life haha |

I'm currently seeing a therapist, and been doing so for the past 5 and half years. It help me alot but still need to work out some stuff. |

Yes, i was with NHS standard therapy which was congnitive then straight up councelling. After 3-4 years of nothing, my dad realised that I might genuinely actually need some proper help. Thats when he gave me the number of his therapist (drove, dropped me off picked me up and paid for me) and shit was insane. Private therapists are extremely talented. This bitch pulled out sub conscious stuff I've held in for years without trying. She was incredible. However, she scared me knowing that I'm giving that detail to someone I don't really know and I cut it short after 5 sessions. |
