Hey guys, so I am trying to come up with a list of stuff I can get at the store to help make life easier for me, as I try to get back into fitness and taking care of myself. I am around 160 pounds at 5'8. I am looking to add muscle to my body, so I plan to try and eat between 160-170 grams of protein every day. Along with around 1800-2300 calories a day. I have a nut allergy and am not familiar with cooking or anything related to it lol. I am looking for suggestions on what I can make or even just get at the store to help me try and hit my goals. Besides lean meat and veggies, are there any suggestions I could take away?
I have different meats, veggies and fruits on my list. Rice, oatmeal, protein powder, eggs, lettuce, beans, bread, cheese, greek yougurt, potatoes, and pancakes for more carbs. I am also trying to start adding in more carbs, because half the time I feel very sluggish. thanks in advance! It means a lot, as 25 years with diabetes has certainly took its toll on me, and im ready to take back my life. |

If you're based in the UK, meal prep companies could be a good idea depending on budget, they're on the pricy side but save a lot of time in the long run |

TJ wrote If you're based in the UK, meal prep companies could be a good idea depending on budget, they're on the pricy side but save a lot of time in the long run I am in the states. I have thought about it, but yeah sadly budget is tight now. I am saving up to try and move out of my mothers house. I am 25 so its time to get back on my own again when I can. If I had my own place, and the money to do so, I would have done this a long long time ago. I suck at making food. Anything I make, is pretty much put in, take out, and eat. Thats all I know how to do, literally. |

The go to has always been chicken and rice. Make sure you're keeping track of how much calories and macros each meal is if you're serious about meal prepping. If you're trying to put on muscle you seem to know already how much protein you need to eat daily. Just by knowing that and sticking with it you'll bulk up. Make sure you stick with achieving your goal and you're also training with intensity/heavy weight.
