Got fiber not long ago, was lucky to get 10 mb/s download and about 3 mb/s upload, now I'm sitting at around 100 mb/s download and upload, definitely nice to have. |

My Download is upper 800's sometimes in the 900's but my upload is about 30-40.
Switching to fiber soon for the full 900's/900's |

Guessing you're a fellow British citizen? We get the shittest. My brothers got a new build and they some how get around 300mbps - 450. It actually makes me sick with jealousy lol. Maybe one day! |

Is that the average speed for internet around your area? If you don't mind me asking, how much do you pay for them speeds? Is it a luxury or just something most people have? |

Generally if it's just copper internet the most we can buy around here is 15 or 16 Mb/s for both but you never get what you pay for from my ISP. They've practically got a monopoly around me. Lowest speed you can get with fiber here is the 100, highest is 200 or 300. Not bad at all, 100 typically gets me no lag in any game I play. In a town of less than 300 people, not typically something everyone has, just because no one prioritizes little towns. |

We use Spectrum which is just Coax internet (they're not great compared to some other providers) we only pay $70 a month. Once we make the switch to true Fiber it'll cost about $85. For the promotional period not sure after that though. According to Speedtest the average is 200-300 Mbps. Before the last move I had to use Starlink which only got me about 100-150 but latency was horrible. Before Starlink we was on DSL and that was about 5-10 on the download. |
