Hello,

I am looking to possibly make a switch for Xbox one gaming to a PC. Games I play frequently on Xbox and would like to continue playing on a PC would be, Apex, COD, and possibly some other multiplayer shooting games.

I can spend up to $5000, but would like to get a range of builds and what would best fit my needs from people more experienced than I.

I will not be streaming and to be honest, I don't need to be running the best graphics settings, but I also don't want to be running crappy graphics so I'd prefer something in the middle to higher side if applicable.

If someone has the time and would be able to help out, I would appreciate recommendations for the following price ranges.
(I am in the US if that matters)

$1000 - $1500 build

$1500 - $2500

$2500 - $5000

These are just guesstimates and if someone does come in and say my needs above can be met with a $1500 desktop setup, then I would definitely be leaning towards that route, but if my requirements need to be in the $4000-$5000 range then that is fine as well. Just let me know what you think and I appreciate any help.

I also only have one curved monitor and will look into getting another one once I get a solid desk to build priced.

I don't have a keyboard or gaming mouse so suggestions on those are appreciated as well

Thanks!

PCPartPicker Part List

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 3.8 GHz 8-Core Processor ($186.00 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING WIFI II ATX AM4 Motherboard ($169.99 @ Amazon)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro SL 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3600 CL18 Memory ($66.50 @ Newegg)
Storage: Crucial P3 Plus 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive ($79.98 @ Amazon)
Video Card: Zotac GAMING Trinity GeForce RTX 4070 Ti 12 GB Video Card ($749.99 @ B&H)
Case: Fractal Design Pop Air RGB ATX Mid Tower Case ($89.99 @ B&H)
Power Supply: Corsair RM750e (2023) 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply ($99.99 @ Best Buy)
Mouse: Logitech G Pro Wireless Wireless Optical Mouse ($79.99 @ Newegg)
Custom: Keychron K8 ($69.30)
Total: $1591.73

Around $50 under your $1500 budget, before you take the mouse and keyboard into account. You can change the mouse and keyboard if you want. The Logitech G Pro is just a solid choice for mouse, but it's too small for me personally so if you'd like something else, there are plenty of decent options.
The Keychron K8 is probably the keyboard I'd be going for; wireless, RGB, mechanical, AND hot swappable keys for under $70 is insane. If you'd rather though, there are plenty of decent options for keyboards as well. $150-200 is plenty to get you a good mouse and keyboard, regardless of what you end up going with.

If you're happy to spend more money, then you could always go for AM5; an R7 7800X/7800X3D, with a B650 motherboard and 32GB DDR5. That will, however, easily add $200+ to your overall cost, and I'm not sure that's a justifiable price increase when an R7 5800X, or 5800X3D isn't going to hold you back at all currently. The only benefit with buying AM5 right now, is that it potentially gives you easier/cheaper upgrades in the future, but that might not be such a big deal.

Storage is silly cheap right now. A 2TB NVMe SSD for under $80 is absolutely ridiculous lmao, everyone should be buying these right now IMHO. That said, there are plenty of faster options if you don't mind spending more money. Again, maybe not a justifiable price increase but if you've got the money, I can suggest some faster SSD's if you like. Also, you may want to add more storage, 2TB isn't a huge amount these days. If you want cheap mass storage, grab a cheap 7200RPM HDD, 3TB are around $60 or 4TB around $80ish. Honestly though, I don't think I would even spend money on mechanical HDD's at this point, just buy a couple of large SSD's lol.

For case, the Fractal Pop Air is just my current go to lol. Again, there are plenty of decent options in a similar price range, or you can spend more if you really want to. There are definitely bad cases that you shouldn't waste money on, but there are plenty of great options for cases as well, and that's definitely going to be a bit more of a personal decision; buy something that YOU like the look of, you're going to have to live with it every day. Again, I can suggest some more cases for you if you're not a fan of the Pop Air.

Lastly, GPU. I have just included an RTX 4070Ti because that puts you around your $1500 budget. The RX 7900XT would be the AMD alternative, which performs slightly better and has more VRAM than the 4070Ti. Honestly, between the 7900XT and 4070Ti, just take whichever GPU has the features you like/want, or whichever GPU you prefer.
Alternatively, you could spend more money for an RX 7900XTX, RTX 4080, or even RTX 4090 if you really want. I'm not sure I could justify the cost of an RTX 4080 or 4090 though lol. There are also cheaper options, but the RTX 4060 series, and even the RTX 4070(non Ti) really aren't worth it IMHO. The RX 6800XT($500) or RX 6950 XT($600) are good cheaper alternative options. The RX 6950XT perform about on par with an RTX 4070Ti, but the RX 6000 GPU's have poorer raytracing performance. The RX 6800XT is roughly on par with an RTX 4070, so a bit of a step down from a 7900XT/4070Ti, but a lot cheaper.

Oh, and then for monitor, I'd be looking at 1440p high refresh rate, or 3440x1440 ultrawide high refresh rate. Something like these;

pcpartpicker.com/product/r3jBD3/g...34wqc-a-sa
pcpartpicker.com/product/9GmFf7/m...-mag342cqr
To be honest, even 4k high refresh rate monitors are starting to get pretty cheap lol;

Much appreciated! Ordered most everything in your top list, just browsing the monitors you gave.

If you've got the money, then 4k high refresh rate is a monitor that will last you a LONG time lol. Although, if you prefer the ultrawide format, then 3440x1440 high refresh rate is your only option really. If you just want something but aren't looking to spend high end prices, then go 1440p high refresh rate. I definitely wouldn't be buying anything below 1440p or less than 120Hz though.
