I doubt you will notice a difference unless your current ethernet cable is broken. I wouldn't spend extra money on a specific cable that claims to offer "high speed" since most ethernet cables will do the exact same thing.

You can learn more about ethernet cables here which will explain the different types. Compare those with the speed that you receive from your ISP so that the cable can carry the full speed and so that you don't buy one that is overkill for your needs.

This is a deep seated question.

You can have high ping for a number of reasons. Here are some of the most common.

- Low Internet Speed
- Broken Ethernet Cable
- Bottlenecked Equipment
- Your ethernet cable can be to long for what its rated for.

As stated above a "high speed cable" will most likely not fix your issue. Unless there is a issue with the copper inside of your current cable.

Highspeed cables are really just gigabit cables CAT5e+

I would do a speed test directly connected to your modem with another cable and compare it to the speeds you get with the cable that is connected to your console or PC. If it is the same then I would recommend caling your ISP to upgrade your internet plan.

If you have a more sophisticated setup suchas firewalls and switches then troubleshooting will be more complex. Nevertheless let me know if you have anymore questions.

Just a thought but have you performed all updates available for your Network? Router Software updates etc? Any changes to your Dns settings that could give you high ping? I know whenever I played on my old vpn I would occasionally (almost always lol) High ping lobbies.
