I mean, having something to offer is a valid reason for someone to be 'somewhere' in life. You can't complain about people being where they are if they earned it, however the rest I could agree.

I live pretty comfortably without doing any of those things though and enjoy my free time too, so it might depend on pure luck at the end of the day. I might not consider myself entirely to be somewhere as you are thinking of it, however I think what matters most is your perception of happiness. If absolute financial success is your only idea of happiness. or having tons of assets, you may never be happy. A lot of people got rich 20-30 years ago by investing in the technology that we use today, but they had no real idea that it would go this far. Same as bitcoin. But that's still a massively small percentage of people in the world. You can live with FOMO and paranoia that you'll never make it but it doesn't help. Just focus on what you're doing now and focus on feeling good and finding things that further make you happy and invest your time into and money into that if it's viable, or work a shitty job and save up as much as you can and then go travel for a while or move somewhere else to start fresh. There's many ways you can find happiness if you're not living in actual poverty and a dead economy even if it really doesn't feel like it right now.

I'm not seeking any pity, but I was in a pretty ugly depression for 5+ yrs and still found myself, despite still not being massively successful in the financial or job side of things. If you're just starting to have these feelings, it might be a journey ahead before you figure it all out so take your time and don't be too discouraged when things aren't going your way. And remember, we live in weird times where people with little to no talent can make it far financially and people with significant talent are often underappreciated. I've found that making my happiness about personal accomplishment (even small goals) and my family is much more important and generally feels better than anything else I've attempted
