Hey there, I have a question I can't find anywhere. Do I need to factory reset before RGH3 install? Like do I have to back anything up on my personal console before taking apart and adding things to the drive? Please lmk as I'm lost on this question.

When preforming an RGH on a console from my experience you don't have to "back up" the console. Your data is always on your HDD, I have rgh my personal old 360 with years worth of data on the hdd and I have not lost anything. It's totally up to you if you want to use any other hdd on your rgh. All the real important data will be stored in J-runner.

No you don't. If you have a Corona or a Jasper with Internal memory. Then you will want to move profiles and saves over to the HDD as this will get removed when you build a freeboot image.
