I won't lie and will say I was cheering for Spain, but that was a great match either way for a neutral I'd guess. Given that it was hosted in the US, I was able to catch most of the matches that didn't kick off during work hours. Spain was far and away the best looking team through each match day, so this isn't super surprising. Prior to this, Germany Spain seemed like the only really great match, heart Breaker for England.

Would be wondering at this point if some sort of deal with the Devil was made for the 66 England World Cup win. But, other than a Southgate departure that I'm guessing is to come, both England and Spain look fairly well set for the 26 WC. Seeing the young contributions for Spain was really exciting.

Kind of a disappointing tournament overall as a viewer given the lack of really great performances, but seems like the best team won it anyway. Now to watch the second half of the Copa America final, solid day of football so far

Edit - The Kane substitution definitely made sense for England, fella wasn't doing anything positive, and they almost immediately go back into it. It's not even like he's ancient, maybe just cursed at this point. Wish Portugal would have came to that same conclusion with Ronaldo instead of just letting him anchor the squad.

A fine analysis.

Although the Euros were hosted in Germany this year, last nights game took place in Berlin.
It's the Copa America which has been hosted in the USA.

Most international competitions are about this dull to be honest. They're usually much edgier affairs than club football, we just tend to forget that after a few years once we've been fed the highlight reels enough. In ten years time we'll probably remember Euro 2024 as a true feast of football once we've seen the Bellingham, Yamal, Guler, Simons and Muldur goals enough!

Since I am now sober, it was sad but truthfully England only got there through luck. Spain got there by being world class.

lmao my bad, confused the two with both of the finals kicking off that day. Was probably wondering how the US plans to host the 26 WC at the time.
