So ive got my driving test in October and I'm 27 (I left it late to start driving I know lol)
Hopefully I pass first time so I'm currently looking at cars to buy and I know nothing about cars. Ive been doing my lessons in a car with a reverse camera so I would like to buy a car with a reverse camera built in. Does anyone know some decent reliable cars for a first time driver with a reverse camera built in? I probably will be paying through finance so my budget is around £250-£300 a month.

Anything Manufactured after 2014 (I think) in North America anyway, comes equipped with a back up cam.

Unsure how it is overseas but I assume it would be the same. Also, make sure you factor your insurance into your budget

I always thought it was 2012, that's when BMW made them standard.
But apparently, it was a law post-2018 that vehicles must have them. It took them a while to get it passed and manufacturers made the change at different points throughout the process I guess.
(I also have no idea about the laws on this overseas.)

@OP You should learn to drive without nannies though. What happens when that camera goes out, you have to drive another vehicle for some reason, hell you have to park in the dark or rain?
Backup cameras are useful for awkward vehicles or ones with poor visibility, but regular commuter cars don't need them.

That and deciding on a car based on this is going to limit you severely, you're virtually saying anything pre-say 2014 for argument is just not an option. Or you'll have to drill into them and retrofit a camera. That's crazy.

I wouldn't even bother getting a camera you shouldn't rely purely on one all the time. You might have to just get a car and get someone or yourself to wire one in which really isn't hard if you get an aftermarket head unit.

Wouldn't recommend anything crazy, just get something cheap. Paying that much a month on your first car is silly for it to more than likely get banged up.

Might just have to keep looking for a good spec car as I don't think many cars have them stock unless you get new new.
