So I hurt my back at work a day after the HR Manager for my job went on vacation. So I came in the following day and made a report of my injury and we filled out all my compensation paperwork. So the LP Manager fills it out and we go down to the HR Office and shes not there, but her secretary is. So we hand her the information and she looks just lost. Puzzled. Confused. She says she has no idea what to do with it.

So LP Manager tells her where to fill out things etc. Says he'll send off when she finishes. So now she has me in the office asking questions about things and how I did it etc.. She then asks me to go down to my department and work until someone can come talk to me. I was really laughing at that. Even now.

But she talks to the managers and all.. my manager etc. None of them cared. None have asked me what happened or how I'm doing. I call to tell them updates and they don't care. Anyways..

But I called to find out what my schedule was so I could relay that information to the Work Injury Inusrance Person in charge of my case and the girl who answered told me, oh she's not here right now. I get a text a bit later saying "she just walked out with her secretary after Gordan the store manager (withholding actual name) and her got into an argument."

So now I have no Scheduler, no person who knows what to do with the work injury insurance AND I have to figure out what to do on my own regarding working in the future.. I'm completely stressed but at the same time I don't really care HAHA.

Nothing important here just jotting things down on my mind atm.

If I were in this scenario I'd simply call in sick at work (with your boss / manager) and say that you couldn't go through the usual procedures due to there currently being no HR staff at the company.

Surely he / she would understand that and do what they can for you in the meantime before the head HR person returns?

Are you in the US? Start by going to urgent care for a check up and ask for workers comp paperwork to fill out and bring to work. Get a doctors note for time off.

That is insane. HR is so weird when it comes to workers comp like its their personal money they are going to be giving you...

Sorry that this happened to you.
