r00t wroteGhost wroter00t wrote Good power supplies can handle transient loads (spikes) beyond their rating. Curious. Why not replace it? It's a good PSU for sure. Let me spend X on a good GPU and Not on a PSU until I possibly start getting crashes? I'm curious now. Seems like the focus is just on GPU wattage and now what the guys full spec computer is. ? EDIT: I'd like to know what you know. I work in this field and we've always went with recommended or a little ahead depending on the rest of the specs of the pc are. |

Tom-The-Gamer wroter00t wroteGhost wroter00t wrote Good power supplies can handle transient loads (spikes) beyond their rating. He has an i5, so not much demand from the CPU. tomshardware.com/pc-components/po...psu-review The 12V rail's OCP activation at 134% The RM 750e can easily handle the transient loads of high-end cards. Sustained load won't be anywhere near 750w. If there were power related crashes, you could lower the card's power target and/or buy a new PSU. I use an SF750 power supply with a 4090 FE and 7800X3D. The card's power target is maxed and the CPU has PBO on. People are way too nervous about power supplies. |
