I completely agree with you man, the only reason I even come on this site anymore is because of the nostalgia.. i honestly think we just got really really lucky in the era we lived in. During 2005-2012 the internet was getting bigger we started getting sites like youtube, TTG, Se7ensins etc all of which gave us more reasons to grind the games. The games then were so much better i mean Mw2, WaW, BO1 etc were all top quality games even in todays times. There was no pay 2 win, the internet hadn't exploded to the point where we had all the little kids nowadays plaguing the games. It was just a perfect time, I was a kid then but like it wasnt the same as being a kid now. The games now are good dont get me wrong but it just isnt the same vibe and thats just cuz we had the perfect era and comparing it to now just doesnt stack up.

kamilca wrote yep youve become an adult. As someone who has played games addictivly since like 4 years old. The feeling you long for does return once in a blue moon you will find a game, something you really get into and absolutly smash.

I'm here for my yearly return. The one game I can say I truly have had this feeling return was with "Lethal Company" I have not laughed so hard in a really long time. So I can attest to your statement.

Because a lot of the time game companies who make games don't attempt to make them fun any more. It's all about Esports/pro play and competitive game modes. That's why you see these indie games completely pop off, Among us, Lethal company and other party indie games.

Plus a lot of us are just getting old and we don't have the time we had when we were younger. Our friend groups all are parents or working/school and really don't got time to hop on as much.

But me personally? I'm still enjoying games but in a different light to say the least. I don't sit around and buy the same games every year, I haven't touched a cod game in probably 6 years but i'm looking forward to the release of BO6 tonight.

I've also stopped playing the same genre of game all the time. I played FPS games for nearly 16 years at this point, I started dabbling into other genre of games, I played:

Smite/League of legends (MOBA's)
Enter the Gungeon/Gunfire Reborn/Riftstorm/Risk of rain (rougelikes)
Dark and Darker (extraction type game)
NBA 2k/NFS (Sports)

If you keep playing the same genre of game you'll burn out and enjoy gaming less and less. Try something new that you've never thought you'd play. I hated sports games and i probably put around 3k hours between 2k18-2k20 and quadruple that in Smite/League.

This hits home for sure! I definitely miss hopping onto MW2 no matter what time it was and you always had buddy's on that you could hop in with and have a great time!

Unfortunately I agree.. I think we're growing up and it sucks!

I still have some fun gaming it just not as fun with out a group you play with regularly. Especially tryna play ranked Fortnite or trying to win objective games on COD.

I know that exact feeling. Unfortunately, things were much more simple back then and the joy could be found with ease. Certain songs remind me of those feelings. Bumping Heartless by Kanye while trick shotting on rust with the boys
