You'll be lucky if Apple will let you upgrade even the memory, I don't believe the DIMM slots allow for changing memory, hence why they charge an extortionate amount to do it for you.

what exactly do you want, do you want to upgrade motherboard or do you need one that'll work with the CPU you have?

They are really good tbf, I got them 2nd hand off of Craig but i would happily pay retail for them.
Plus i can't really compare them as I've never had a decent set of speakers.
