If the second choice means that the people in my family would then have no idea who I am, the second one. I love my family, I do, and they love me, but I somehow grew into a mental state where I just don't actually feel any of that. I also have grown out of the idea of a significant other. I mean, if things led to another and became something more, I probably wouldn't fight it, but I just have no urge to be with anyone. Now, if we are saying friends can count as family, I may have an issue with that. I have more in common with my friends than my family, which means I gravitate more to them.
Rereading it, is family just talking about wife and kid? That would make it infinitely easier to pick the second one for me. (Also, you can keep the big house and the cars. No way I'd be living like that.) |
