I built a PC a little over three years ago (plan on upgrading soon) not really knowing much and I have barley used it. Recently I started using it more and I tried to throw it back and play some Minecraft but it is super laggy even on low settings. I am not sure if I am not utilizing everything correctly or if my computer is just not good enough to run games anymore. If anyone could help me out that would be great. I attached my specs below.

Well, from that, I can see you have an I5 4570 & an AMD R9 390 which should be more than enough to play MC.

I did notice however that your C drive is pinned to 100%. If this is a mechanical drive, that will explain why you are lagging. My best guesstimate of why it's pinned at 100% is probably Windows Updates if you haven't used your PC in a while. I'd suggest leaving it on for a while and just let it do it's thing and come back to it.

It might be worth looking at an SSD too for a cheap way to improve system enhancements but not necessary FPS boosts.

Thank You for your response. I updated everything and got better fps but it was still too laggy to play. I have since think I found the solution. For some reason I didn't have Java installed right so I installed the new version and I am now playing on good settings with around 80-110 fps.
