Tried starting my computer up when i woke up it wouldnt start all the fans span for a few seconds, then it just turned off and tried turning on again ect ect
Did a bit of cleaning on the inside (Checked if any Loose cables and stuff) Now it turns on but says All settings were reset to default values" on bootup. Im thinking its the CMOS Battery but would you say it is? The computer is easily 8 years old. Thanks for the help in advance! |

Here what you can do:
- turn psu switch to off and unplug it from the computer. - remove the CMOS battery from the motherboard for a minute, then put it back in - plug up the psu and turn on PC and go straight into BIOS - set your settings again, save and reboot ( to make sure your values arent reset again ) Let me know if Ive helped! |

Hmm, could be a couple of things.
Normally, this will happen because the PC failed to POST the first time or few times round so it resets the BIOS back to factory removing any changes within in that are not defaults in an attempt to boot. Once you enter the BIOS and reset everything back to default, there should be an option for this, then save the BIOS and reboot. You shouldn't see this issue again. |
