Hiya folks. Would rather ask the experts here for advice rather meyself recommending something.

Budget £300, maybe could push her to go £350 if need be.
She reckons it will be used for basic school work, browsing, watching movies, typical teenage stuff I guess.

What they have looked at is;

The only thing that would disappoint me with that laptop is the screen but at least it has a SSD so it shouldn't be slow for the use case involved.

I'm personally not a big fan of Lenovo notebooks. They seem bloated, personal opinion.

These 2 ACER laptops are on sale for almost 200 off the original price. Plus they have better resolution, and just all around look nicer.

The Acer Swift comes with an SSD but a slower CPU.
The Acer Aspire I've personally owned and handed down to one of my nephews who is still using it to this day.
Just doesn't have an SSD but 1TB HDD should be plenty for a teenager I would think.

Those are the best deals on the provided retailer in my opinion.
