Hello Everyone.
Just wanted to mention to everyone about a ban wave(nothing certain just SPECULATION). So today a friend and I were both permabanned for marketplace theft. This ban started this morning and processed around 3 PM EST. For myself, I was one of the few banned for the Argentina Method back in September for cheap transactions(specifically VBucks as known on this forum a while ago). This was a TWO-week ban when it happened and my account was back to normal. On the other hand, my friend never did it and received the ban and never did that method or really anything, however, he was refunded for all his purchases recently going all the way back to the release of Madden for this year without contacting Microsoft.(He also hasn't had a suspension since 2016) It is kinda odd that these bans were within minutes of each other and was just wondering if anyone heard anything or has also been banned. |

Is it possible that you both received the perm ban, due to purchasing Digital Codes, Xbox Currency etc from 3rd Party Sites, like G2A from time to time you purchase stolen cards, sadly if you do then of course you will be banned for it, as the purchase for those codes are flagged.
If you was banned back in September, it wouldn't make since on why you'd be banned again. Plus you stated your friend never even did it, so that also makes you think.. |

All my purchases since then have been legitimate. I used a couple codes via Gamestop Rewards and Microsofts Point Rewards on there website. I did notice that at the times I used the Microsoft Points Rewards on my transaction history it said both were refunded. |

They wouldn't know where it's bought from as those sites are not authorized retailers, but if someone buys a code with a stolen credit card and sold it on that site, best believe they can track it down to a T as to what account redeemed it and they can ban it as it would technically be Marketplace fraud even if the user who redeemed it didn't know it was a bad code. But unless you are personally committing fraud intentionally, I doubt they would ban you |

Sox wrotesince i found out about fraud with black market keysellers, you can bet your ass they can figure out where the key was from because said person that sold the key didnt get it legally aka credit card theft which will result in market place theft bans, this is why buying the cards in store ie ebgames/ebx game gamestop walmart bestbuy ect, hell its safer to buy it off amazon then again you can get a stolen cc code as well from there, never use a reseller or ebay, thats what i learned when all my steam games got removed and my alt psn account got perma banned for fraud, thats if they find out the code was bought with a stolen card which is easy to track as people tend to charge back alot of timesJLM wroteChat wrote Is it possible that you both received the perm ban, due to purchasing Digital Codes, Xbox Currency etc from 3rd Party Sites, like G2A from time to time you purchase stolen cards, sadly if you do then of course you will be banned for it, as the purchase for those codes are flagged. |
