First post from a non techie.
After advice please. Purchased modded Xbox 360 slim for my son for Xmas. He had been using an Xbox for some years for which I purchase Xbox live so he can connect with friends. A message appears now to say he has to buy ninja time. Duh, I pay Microsoft for live time, what's ninja time , is it similar? Isn't Microsoft controlling Xbox connectivity via Live? Whatever it is it's way too expensive ! Typing this, my son said he just got round it and somehow managed to get on the WiFi. It's all just confusing to me. Do I need to worry about ninja time, or is this from a special server (am I showing my ignorance here?) The games also crash a lot on the new console (gta5) and freeze changing accounts. Is this an issue with the box? Many thanks for your patience. Any enlightenment gratefully received. |

You have to buy a server key for time and a keyvault in order to play online, on the modded xbox. You can't just get Xbox live and play online as it isn't like a normal Xbox as soon as you try to play online without a server or kv you will just be console banned almost instantly.
There is a lot to learn if you are both clueless about these consoles but it's quick and easy to learn. I suggest you look up xxMODDEDWARFARExx on YouTube he has a tutorial video for almost everything you will need.
