Good morning everyone , so me and my friends got into this big discussion on how long it should take someone to find a decent job & when I say decent I mean above minimum wage . Like four dollars above minimum wage . So how long will you guys say that it will take for someone to find a decent job & say if they moved to a new city and state as well . Including the interview process

In London you normally get around £12 a hour for the work I do and I'm only 20. And work 12 hours a day 4 days a week so 12x12=144. 144x4=576. I don't really complain at the moment. Is it harder in the states?

Yeah in the states they like to prolong the hiring process and have no clue why .

I work as a waiter for a really good seafood restaurant, I started at the bottom as a bus boy and made my way up into being a waiter. It's very hard at first and now harder I am a waiter. But I do get paid a whole lot more when it comes to the busiest parts of the year. This week I work 14 days straight for 12 hours a day.

But in the end I'll come home with a lot of money and I'll be fully prepared for what we call 'slow season's where we make close to nothing. Its been 3 years since I worked like this and I seem to be taking good cars of myself and my wife. But it's rather time consuming and definitely something I will not be doing forever.

I got this job immediately after my graduation from my dad actually. I didnt even have to find or apply for this job.

I'm 21 and I think I have a decent job for my age, make good money, get at least 40 hours a week (overtime if I feel like it) and I get GREAT insurance (fully covered medical, good dental/vision)

If you're desperate get a warehouse job or get your CDL and drive stone around for a local company. Both will pay good with possibility of benefits.

Depends on what your experience is, that will determine how fast you can get a decent job.

Depends on what type of work you want to do. I just turned 23 and I make $36 an hour, but I work construction a very labor demanding job.
