Step 1 : Track everything you eat over the course of a week.
Step 2 : Take an average of total calories and minus that by 300 calories as a goal for each day.
Step 3 : Weigh yourself after a week of eating in the 300 deficit if weight is lost do it again for another week if no weight loss increase the deficit by 100 addtional calories.
Step 4 : Repeat step 3.

If after 2 weeks no weight loss your either cheating yourself, or first average of calories wasn't accurate.

To help boost of weight loss the calories your using in the deficit make them from carbohydrates.

End of the day it comes to calories in vs calories out anyone else who says anything else is uneducated or wrong. Those steps are the most basic it gets to see if you can give yourself a goal and restriction and stick to it.

Good luck with it pal however you approach it and any questions just message me I'll be happy to help.

This sounds like a good plan will have to test this out!

Appericate the PM opportunity also thanks!

Hardest thing to do is realize that results don't happen overnight, and for me it was harder to stick to a nutrition program than it was to grind in the gym. Everyone's different but I would say focus on dieting and nutrition first then worry about lifting. Your body can't perform if it is not fueled right!

Just stick to it. My sophomore year I was about 220 and I told myself I wasn't going to weigh any higher than that. I started eating healthy and lifting weights about 4-5 times a week. At first you don't see many results but as the months pass you'll see big improvements to your health and body. Just don't give up. Stick to a good meal plan and keep track of everything you eat. I lost about 30 lbs in about 2 months because I would lift weights, eat super healthy, and I played football so i was getting about 2-3 hours of great exercise before I even lifted. It will be tough in the beginning to stay about from fatty and sugary foods, but after you cleanse your body from them you won't even crave sweets. Like my mom would make cookies and they would smell fantastic, but I didn't even crave one and instead you start craving healthier foods since your body is used to it. Just don't give up bro. Stay strong

Most my friends do which is great of them!

But they all have gym partners and I wouldn't want to tag along and be the third wheel, also feel like my self confidence would stop me entering a gym because i'd get judged?
I highly doubt anyone would be upset in you were to want to workout in a group of 3. If they have been going to the gym they could also show you proper exercises to do.

It sounds strange but really the most liberating thing in life is knowing that you're just a random blot on everyones radar in life and are basically not remembered by 90% of the people you see. Think of how many random people you walk by on a day to day basis, how many of them do you really remember? It goes the same in the gym, no one is really paying attention to you or anyone else they're just going about their business. The people that do make a point to harass or put others down in the weightroom are just jackasses with their own self confidence issues. It might feel like people are staring or judging but really no one gives a ****. In fact when I see people in the gym busting their asses to lose weight I think more highly of them, at least you're doing something to improve yourself vs the people that do nothing out of fear of judgement.

Best of luck my guy, most important part of any improvement is just starting and staying consistent.
