Looking for a pc for my buddy. He's just gonna be doing some general gaming mostly on destiny 2, I've fallen away from computers so don't know what to throw in there.

Budget & Currency: $2000 USD

Peripherals & Monitor: No idea I think IPS is what's good but 60-75hz will be fine unless a 144 is on sale

Games:
Destiny 2

Software: N/A

Aesthetics: black / green if possible but already have a case

Rebates/Promos: N/A

Details: Best bang for the buck but also future proofing a bit and can run games easy

When: ASAP

PCPartPicker Part List

CPU: Intel - Core i7-9700K 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor ($404.99 @ Amazon)
CPU Cooler: be quiet! - Dark Rock Pro 4 50.5 CFM CPU Cooler ($84.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Motherboard: Gigabyte - Z390 AORUS PRO ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($169.99 @ Amazon)
Memory: Corsair - Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory ($79.89 @ OutletPC)
Storage: Intel - 660p Series 1 TB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive ($109.89 @ OutletPC)
Video Card: Zotac - GeForce RTX 2080 8 GB Video Card ($669.99 @ Newegg)
Case: Cooler Master - MasterBox NR600 (w/o ODD) ATX Mid Tower Case ($69.99 @ Amazon)
Power Supply: Cooler Master - MWE Gold 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply ($69.90 @ B&H)
Monitor: VIOTEK - GN27D 27.0" 2560x1440 144 Hz Monitor ($319.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $1979.62

Assuming a monitor is the only peripheral required? I personally wouldn't bother with Intel though, I'd much rather be invested in the AM4 socket.

CPU: AMD - Ryzen 7 2700 3.2 GHz 8-Core Processor ($215.39 @ OutletPC)
CPU Cooler: be quiet! - Dark Rock Pro 4 50.5 CFM CPU Cooler ($84.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Motherboard: Asus - Prime X470-Pro ATX AM4 Motherboard ($139.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: Corsair - Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory ($79.89 @ OutletPC)
Storage: Intel - 660p Series 2 TB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive ($209.99 @ B&H)
Video Card: Zotac - GeForce RTX 2080 8 GB Video Card ($669.99 @ Newegg)

Power Supply: Cooler Master - MWE Gold 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply ($69.90 @ B&H)
Monitor: VIOTEK - GN34CB 34.0" 3440x1440 100 Hz Monitor ($449.99 @ Amazon)
Total: $1990.12

You could just save the $200+ with the R7 2700 + X470 motherboard, but I've included a larger SSD and an ultrawide monitor here to show you what the $200 saving on CPU can get you elsewhere.
