CPU: AMD - Ryzen 5 2600 3.4 GHz 6-Core Processor (£132.98 @ Aria PC) AMD CPU's are great for the price. The Ryzen 5 2600 has 6 cores and can easily handle any modern game. On top of that, it's very cheap for the performance you get. Motherboard: Asus - ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING ATX AM4 Motherboard (£114.94 @ AWD-IT) Basic motherboard with all the needed ports and slots. You could go with the cheaper MSI B450 Tomahawk motherboard but I prefer Asus. Memory: Corsair - Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory (£78.18 @ Aria PC) 2x8 16GB RAM is all that's needed for gaming now a days. Storage: Western Digital - Blue 500 GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive (£56.79 @ CCL Computers) This is an SSD not a NVMe drive. This is the best SSD for the price. I would recommend getting another SSD or a hard drive for extra storage like the Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB. Video Card: MSI - GeForce RTX 2060 6 GB VENTUS OC Video Card (£294.99 @ Amazon UK) This card should handle 1440p at 144hz depending on the game and graphics settings. It can also handle 4k at 60fps very well. Case: Fractal Design - Focus G ATX Mid Tower Case (£46.93 @ More Computers) Basic cheap case that gets the job done. Power Supply: Corsair - CXM 550 W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply (£70.68 @ Amazon UK) Great PSU for the price and no more wattage is needed. Custom: AUKEY Mechanical Keyboard with Blue Switches, LED-Backlit 104-Key Gaming Keyboard with Preset and Customizable Lighting Effects for PC and Laptop Gamers Very good keyboard for the price. The monitor I included is very good for the price. You can either get 1 excellent monitor, or 2 mediocre monitors, or you can get 1 decent one paired with a crappy one. Either way I believe one excellent monitor is the way to go because of your budget. Also, you can get a Windows 10 key on Kinguin or Ebay cheap or you can run it without activating it. |

PCPartPicker Part List
CPU: AMD - Ryzen 5 2600 3.4 GHz 6-Core Processor (£132.98 @ Aria PC) Motherboard: MSI - B450 TOMAHAWK ATX AM4 Motherboard (£89.98 @ AWD-IT) Memory: Corsair - Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory (£71.95 @ Amazon UK) Storage: Crucial - BX500 480 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive (£51.46 @ CCL Computers) Video Card: EVGA - GeForce GTX 1660 6 GB XC BLACK GAMING Video Card (£199.99 @ Amazon UK) Case: Phanteks - P300 ATX Mid Tower Case (£50.37 @ CCL Computers) Power Supply: Corsair - Vengeance 650 W 80+ Silver Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply (£65.99 @ AWD-IT) Monitor: BenQ - GW2470ML 23.8" 1920x1080 60 Hz Monitor (£94.98 @ Amazon UK) Monitor: Samsung - LC27JG50QQNZA 27.0" 2560x1440 144 Hz Monitor (£242.99 @ Amazon UK) Total: £1000.69 If you really want to grab 2 monitors now, you'll have to settle for a GTX 1660 unless you sacrifice the Samsung JG50 for maybe a 1440p 60Hz display or something instead. I'd really be aiming for the JG50 as your main monitor though, it's a steal for <250 quid. I would probably just drop the second monitor for now though, that way you could grab an RTX 2060; PCPartPicker Part List CPU: AMD - Ryzen 5 2600 3.4 GHz 6-Core Processor (£132.98 @ Aria PC) Motherboard: MSI - B450 TOMAHAWK ATX AM4 Motherboard (£89.98 @ AWD-IT) Memory: Corsair - Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory (£71.95 @ Amazon UK) Storage: Crucial - BX500 480 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive (£51.46 @ CCL Computers) Video Card: MSI - GeForce RTX 2060 6 GB VENTUS OC Video Card (£294.99 @ Amazon UK) Case: Phanteks - P300 ATX Mid Tower Case (£50.37 @ CCL Computers) Power Supply: Corsair - Vengeance 650 W 80+ Silver Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply (£65.99 @ AWD-IT) Monitor: Samsung - LC27JG50QQNZA 27.0" 2560x1440 144 Hz Monitor (£242.99 @ Amazon UK) Total: £1000.71 The RTX 2060 is a great GPU for 1440p, high refresh rate with optimised settings. I know how much it sucks to only use one monitor, but maybe you have something lying around you could use? If not, you can pick up used 1080p monitors on Gumtree cheap as chips as long as you're not somewhere really remote so you could just do that when you have some spare cash. Definitely get the Corsair Vengeance PSU over the CXM, especially since it's cheaper. I wouldn't pay the 25 quid premium for the B450 Strix over the Tomahawk. The Tomahawk has better VRM. Asus' BIOS is better for sure, but I don't think that's worth the premium for most people, especially for a technically lower quality motherboard(though the Strix is fine). In either case, grab any cheap keyboard for now- easy enough to upgrade later. As for OS, you can use a legitimate install of Win10 for free. If you want to get a key to activate it at any point, don't pay more than £30ish for one, definitely not the £100 or whatever it is retail. |
