Hello so basically my GF got a really bad burn from work on her hand and someone claimed they were first aid trained (he isn't) and he decided to wrap her hand tightly with bandages which you're not meant to do as it makes it worst now she can't work when he should have applied a burn kit and wrap in cling film and she should have gone straight to hospital just wondering what we can do about this.

Will give rep for best answers thanks.

There's not much you can actually do about the matter other than go to your doctors OR go to the hospital.
Either way it'll need to be looked at to check theirs no infections etc.

About work:
Talk to her management find out why the person in question claimed to be first aid trained when he wasn't,
Find out why he was acting as the first aider.

Talk to the management about possible putting more first aiders into place so they're covered for future accidents,
However you could go to your union (if in the UK) and talk about it all with them, they'll give you a great list of advice,

However the next alternative is going to an advice centre and speak to them about the issues.
They're normally free just depends where you go.

you cant sue over stupidity if you could i would be a millionaire by now with how many cases i would have, she should get it checked right away dont know why she let some dude look at it never trust a co worker thats just rule one in this type of scene.

but you can technically get the person fired or have them put on leave dont exactly know if thats the case, since he technically made your gf have more pain so you should talk to her manager or have her talk to the manager about the issue at hand since you cant sue unless the person did it on purpose.

dont know how the laws work where you live but im assuming the same way as all work laws are and other laws

The best place to get legal advice is from a lawyer/attorney and not from a gaming website. Call a local injury attorney near you and they will tell you over the phone if you have a case or not. 99% of them give free consultations.

What is sueing going to do? If she knew she had to go to the hospital why didn't she go? I'm assuming he was just trying to help, don't think it will go very far in court.

I was just asking bud the point of the matter is don't tell someone you're first aid trained when you're clearly not I don't know all the laws and that but thanks for replying

Only way I could see you trying to sue for this is if it was a mechanical malfunction with something she was doing. She burned herself at work but what was she doing? If she burned it on a coffee pot then you can't sue, and someone wrapping a burn a little tightly isn't really a probable cause to sue.

Hope this helps a little, hope she feels better soon.
