I was looking into jailbreaking my iPhone XR. Wha are some of the pros / cons of doing this?
I don't want to break my phone lol

Currently, no. Hopefully in the future, but I would not bet on it.

As for the topic, I would say go for it! Jailbreaking opens up your iPhone to sooo much more. It is one of the first things I do when getting a new iPhone, and since my XS Max is on 12.3.1 I can't. But my 7 Plus was jailbroken and it was awesome.

As far as pros and cons, its all in the eyes of the user tbh. The pros definitely outweigh the cons by a longshot but their are some.

Pros: Open your iPhone to tons of customization. (Themes, animations, dark mode, customizing core UI elements like the keyboard, and how it works.

Tweaks, right now for iOS 12, so many tweaks exist and many free ones are better than paid. r/Jailbreak is constantly updated with new and upcoming tweaks, so if you are interested I would check into that. An example of customization though, my last iPhone was completely customized, I had a new theme on it, changed the home screen icons to circles, had dark mode in pretty much every app, keyboard was a nice shade of blue, text message & iMessage bubbles were colored, had filza, iCleaner, and more.

Cons: Ehh I am pretty biased, so I don't see many cons when it comes to jailbreaking, but I would say the biggest con is performance hits. With tweaks, you will run into some that drain battery a little bit faster than you would on stock iOS. Some tweaks will have respring issues where your phone will restart occasionally, its not very noticeable if you don't use heavy tweaks though!
