I've seen tons of videos online about urban exploration and people finding abandoned places to explore. It's probably not very easy nowadays but I've always wanted to give it a try.
Do you think you would give it a try? This is a location I wanted to explore before because all my friends had. It was an old abandoned meat packing plant. I never went because it was littered with gang activity, and homeless people. I never quite got the courage to go before it was tore down in late 2016 to early 2017. What a shame there were 23 buildings just asking to be explored.

There's a few places around where I live that are completely abandoned and filled with graffiti and random stuff, if I'm in a position to go I always will!
There's a Toys R Us that is now abandoned since it went out of business, and it's long rumored that it's the most haunted place in the city and surrounding areas. I'm really trying to explore it one day but it seems like a real bitch to get into. Exploring With Josh's videos are awesome!! |

C4 linked me thankfully, or I wouldn't have seen this.
The area that I live in isn't exactly the best place for this kind of stuff, so I have to drive pretty far to get to anything worth exploring, but I've gone to my fair share of places. One of my favorite places to go to is Forest Haven Asylum, located not far outside of Baltimore, Maryland. I've been there 7 times now, and there are still a handful of buildings that I haven't explored on the property due to either not having enough time, getting chased by security or genuinely getting too spooked and leaving for the night. You can Google it and read up on it yourself, but a general rundown is this; it's an old asylum/sanctuary that was built in 1925 for the intellectually-disabled, and when the tuberculosis outbreak happened, it became a dumping ground for people with TB. A majority of the buildings were forced to be shutdown in 1991, but some of the property was still being used up until 2001, I believe. I can honestly say, that the most scared I've ever been in my life was at Forest Haven, my girlfriend and I had gotten separated from the rest of my friends after seeing someone walking towards us with a flashlight, whom we thought was security, so everybody ran. My girlfriend hid in the bushes, and when I noticed she hadn't ran in the same direction, I hid around the corner where I could still see where I saw her jump into a bush. After I could no longer see the flashlight of this unnamed person, I went and got her, and we tried to find our friends. Her and I go into the building that they ran into, and I start calling their names, waiting for a response, I don't hear anything. So I can going farther into the building, and I've been in this building before, so I know my way around. I got to a room that we were previously in prior that night, because I assumed they ran in there, knowing that if would probably be the easiest place for me to find them. As I get into the doorway of this large room, with my girlfriend standing to my immediate right, I hear something far away in the building, behind me somewhere. Ignoring what I heard, I go to take a step into the large room that I am facing, and I start to hear very heavy breathing, and at the same time, my girlfriend and I look at each other, she asks, "Do you hear that?" and I reply, "Yeah, the breathing?" and then I knew I wasn't just imagining it. So I peak into the room, look to my left because that's where it sounded like it was coming from, and I didn't see anybody there, so we both just took off running in the opposite direction. Legitimately the most terrifying thing ever, hearing something that not only you hear, but someone else hears too, and not seeing anything making the noise. Later that night after I found my friends and we all decided we were going to walk back to the cars, we got back to the car, and we all were going through the pictures we had taken to see if maybe we had gotten anything in them. In a photo I took of my girlfriend, in that same room I heard the "breathing" in, I got the the first picture I've ever taken with an orb of light in it. I'll go through my pictures and find it, and I'll post it here after I blur out everybody that's in it. Some other places that I've been too include; Gettysburg Battlefield (I live 45 minutes away and visit a lot actually) Pennhurst Asylum Abandoned Pennsylvania Turnpike Centralia, PA Ellicot City, MD Eastern State Penitentiary Carrie Furnace The forest were the Blair Witch is based on, and the building that is still there Our next trip is to Glen Dale Hospital in Maryland which is a huge hospital and is supposedly extremely haunted. Weather or not you believe in ghosts or anything, that's all you. These are just my experiences and what I've seen/heard for myself. If you're interested in any other sp00ky encounters I'd love to share. *And to all of you saying you want to and don't have anybody to go with, or are scared to go alone or anything else. I live in south-central Pennsylvania, so if anybody is in that area, message me and maybe we can meet up sometime that I go out somewhere with my friends next time. |

My friend has a real nice expensive camera because he does photography and stuff for a side job now, and he just recently got something that will allow him to record with night vision. We'll be testing it out and see how it goes in the next couple weeks before we go to Glen Dale Hospital. |

Taylor wrote C4 linked me thankfully, or I wouldn't have seen this. Wow that's awesome! I've always wanted to go to an asylum or something along the lines of that. I live in north Texas currently, there are some places I want to go to but I haven't worked the courage up. I used to live in central Indiana and there was an abandoned asylum I wanted to go to and planned on it but someone took a girl there and did some not so nice things leaving her barely alive so it got tore down eventually. In Texas however, one of those places I've always wanted to go to is the Baker Hotel, its considered to be extremely haunted from all the deaths throughout the time it was open before it closed down. It's guarded however, but occasionally they have tours and my friends went one time when I was out of town so I couldn't go with. It's only about 45 minutes from me so I plan to go sometime soon. ** Also I would love to hear more of these stories you have, very interesting. |

Unfortunately there isn't really anything like that near where I live that I know of at-least.
I've always watched videos on it and was pretty intrigued, maybe one day I'll stumble across something and have the urge to check it out |
