so i got a ps4 from my girlfriend. she doesn't use it so she gave it to me but theres a problem. so sometimes the controller will connect and when it does it'll stay connected for a while at times but it'll disconnect and wont connect back to the console. its a pain to get it to connect and i'm not sure whats wrong. i tried resetting the controller and the console as well as hard resetting the console but it hasn't fixed the problem. i'm not sure what to do. do i factory reset the console? how do i fix it? please i'm in desperate need i will +Rep someone who helps me fix the issue. and i know its not the controller considering the fact i tried multiple controllers on the console and get the same results. |

I would try and rebuild the database before doing a factory reset |

This used to happen to me on Xbox, whenever the batteries went slightly low it would take ages for the controller to finally connect
Try a fresh pair of batteries, if that works, look into just getting a wired controller. |

usb cable is the cause of it, i have 15 14outta number 15 worked perfect, if the inside of the usb cable is slightly damaged which idk how mine got damaged but then again they get tangled with my pc cords so what ever i guess.
i recommend trying a brand new usb cable to see if it is the cable you have itself, which it seems to me to be the same as my issue, i have the same issue with my crapbox one and ps4 controllers both brand new controllers as well as new cable which like i said using a new cable fixed it for me for both my controllers and my spare ps4 controller. if you think the cable is fine then its the usb ports on the console thats damaged, i recommend trying to connect your ps4 controller to a pc if windows doesnt pick it up then its the cable, not sure about mac because who honestly uses a mac thats not for school or video editing? |
