So after having a potato for the last 5 years it was time to upgrade to someone a bit more advance. I have the peripherals already so that isn't an issue.

I've currently come up with this build so far, let me know what you guys think? My main concern was deciding whether or not to go with MSI or ASUS ROG MOBO. I initially wanted to go with a X470 but due to the 3700X and incompatibility (unless flashing the BIOS to latest version) I thought the X570 would be less hassle etc.

p.s for the GPU it'll mostly be a RTX 2080.

If anyone has any other suggestions to the current build that would be appreciated.

What peripherals? Well, mainly what monitor? Keyboard and mouse don't really matter

Manufacturer means nothing. Asus and MSI both have plenty of shitty motherboards, as well as plenty of great ones.
Asus' B450 motherboards are mediocre, but their X570 are stellar.
MSI on the other hand, have some stellar B450 mobo's but the majority of their X570 motherboards are for the bin.
Don't buy the MSI X570 Gaming Pro Carbon- it's bad. For that money, Asus X570 Strix is an infinitely better choice.

Not really less hassle tbh. You could buy an MSI B450 Tomahawk MAX for about 100 quid which will work with Ryzen 3000 out of the box, no BIOS update required. Alternatively, you could just look for B450/X470 motherboards with BIOS flashback functionality, which means you can update the BIOS without a CPU anyway.

Well, what's your budget?
What's the system actually going to be used for?
When will you be buying this system?
