So, I run 2 AP AC Lite's in the house and noticed a significant difference over our previous wifi solution which was just the router that Virgin Media gave us.

We're supposed to get 380mb/s download tops which, via Ethernet, we get. On wifi, this drops down to a measly 290mb/s... The AP's went above and beyond my expectation.

I would say that you might need a little bit of networking knowledge before setup. Not too much but a little. You have to install your own controller and make sure that the AP gets power. During this project, we run CAT 6 throughout the house, 2 in each room, and run it all via a POE switch which also powers the Access Point so it's all done fairly clean on our end. It' not necessary to do it this way but it's just a clean way IMO rather than powering the AP via an injector.

In terms of range, so the reason why we got 2 was because 3 floors needed filling with wifi in this house. So I put one downstairs and one in the roof where I belong. This means the middle floor gets the signal from 2 AP's and devices can choose what ever is the strongest signal. Even then, you still get fall speed whilst sitting on the bog so no complaining.

TLDR - It's worth it if you're willing to put in a little bit of time to setup.
