Who is your ISP, what speeds to you pay for, are you able to do a direct ethernet cable test from modem to PC?

Is this a new issue or a reoccurring issue that has been ongoing for some time?

Have you done a reset of the modem to clear out temp data being held in the modem?

Feel free to PM me and I'll have a look more in-depth. I used to a VM Faults Technician.

What can cause lag to a PC's internet connection...

1. Distance from the Router, Repeater, Booster, and or Modem.
2. Surroundings. Walls, metal, etc can and will cause interference.
3. Stop using wifi. If you're playing on a PC you oughta be wired. CAT5E or CAT6 Ethernet cable.
4. The wireless adapter you have is dated and has a data limit to it. Upgrade it, you can find ones that can reach 500MB/s for around 10-20 USD these days.
5. You do not have the drivers for your adapter downloaded/updated.
6. The adapter may be damaged, EOD (End of Life), or malfunctioning.
7. Possible that your motherboard is aged enough that it can't handle a higher network connection. (Unlikely, but I've ended up with people who have motherboards from the 90s in a main PC.)
8. You may be connected to the wrong wifi.
9. When it comes to downloading anything on a PC, some websites and game services have limiters on them due to high bandwidth. For example, downloading Fortnite or GTA V takes me 30 minutes with 1GB internet connection and being wired in. But if I try installing something like WITCHER 3 it's done in 5 minutes.
