I want to set a server up with a few friends that has the mod pack FTB installed. Can anyone point me in the right direction of how to do this and how good your PC has to be to play on the server? What the best version of FTB is etc?

Google will help with that.

tip: only download packs and mods from curseforge ONLY.

and make sure you allocate ram and have 8GB+ RAM depending on the pack

You're going to need 64bit java installed to allocate more ram to FTB first off.

Youtube will be your best friend in setting up a minecraft server.

Changed the modpack to tekkit. Only thing is a few of my mates dont have great computers so them trying to run the game isnt good. any idea how to custom make modpacks so they dont have all the unnecessary stuff?

The Twitch App strangely enough has mudpack makers, custom mod packs, would recommend.

I used to play the hexxit modpack on a personal server (Highly recommend) with a friend on 8 gb of ram back in like 2015 no problem, You could always pay the $15 to get an actual server hosted by a company and skip all the annoying parts / Hardware requirements for hosting.[/quote]

Havent tried this service but pricing plans seem really reasonable VVVV

We have server with Serverminer. Problem is now were trying to use the TCR Classic Refined 1.12 but it seems to be installing for my mates but when i go to do it i get an error to do with unzipping the file which is odd.
